I'm really loving condensing one week into one side of a spread. I feel like the pressure has been lifted to document every little thing, or find unnecessary filler. Instead, I'm finding interesting ways to layer, and that's been fun. And by working on it every other week (this spread came together in an hour), I'm freeing up time for other projects. It's been a good change all around.
The main focus for these weeks was Valentines Day + a house-wide tummy bug. Except Mark - lucky. My friend, Sue, taught me how to knit + Morgan was star student at school. Here is the full spread :
We also passed out the Girl Scout cookies Morgan sold + our niece turned four.
While the photos themselves are simple, I filled the other pockets with pretty things from other people. The "reading" card was a printable from my Project Shots class. The Hello Pretty overlay is from Jamaica. The "to be loved by you" letterpress card is from The Detroit Wood Type Co. The "not my day" transparency is from an old Studio Calico Project Life kit. And the "yes please" card is a freebie from Andrea.
It was a good spread to add a little extra pink + red. The xoxo card on the left side was a scrap of some watercolor doodling I was doing that week. I layered a piece of vellum over it and wrote a few details about our Valentine's date at home in pencil. Another spread in the books!
